BONO is to take to the GLASTONBURY stage oU2-and-Bonon Friday in 'bionic' form after being rebuilt by German surgeons.

The U2 star was rushed to hospital in Munich a year ago for emergency surgery on his spine.

But he reckons the advanced techniques have left him even better and will tell 170,000 fans that he is now 'Bono 2.0'

Thanking the team that fixed his spine he said: “Last year I came out of surgery in Munich and it went very well. If it hadn't then things could have been very different for me.

“Were I to pull down my pants I have 'Made In Germany' stamped on my ass.

“So - Bono 2.0. Through the wonders of science I'm not just fixed, I'm better.”

U2 are promising a 'stripped-down'set at Glastonbury with fewer of the over-the-top stage props they have become famous for.

Drummer LARRY MULLEN JR said: “We're out of our comfort zone and that's important for us.

“We're getting back to our roots.”
