Liam-GallagherOASIS bad-boy Liam Gallagher has confessed to being sober for six months.

Gallagher, 38, rose to fame with brother Noel on his hard-drinking, drug-taking rock n roll persona.

But he admitted 20years of booze had taken its toll.

Liam said: “I haven't had a drink since New Year's Eve. I'm having a bit of a break.

“I went 20 years drinking and messing about. It's rubbish.”

Oasis were crafted as a 'lad's band' with many lyrics dedicated to hedonism and song titles including Champagne Supernova and Cigarettes & Alcohol.

The band famously played two monster outdoor gigs at Knebworth, UK, cementing their claim to be the biggest band in the world at that point.

But Liam said enough was enough, adding: “At Knebworth I thought we were doing one night and we were doing two.

“I got that mashed on the first I woke up to a knock on the door and thought I was at home. I forgot all about it. But I had to go and do it again. That was heavy.”

He reckons switching to ginger has improved his singing with new band Beady Eye.
