Amy Winehouse: What happened to Amy's missing millions?

E-mail Print PDF

amy-winehouse-singingAMY Winehouse was worth a little more than £2million when she died in July, leading to questions about what happened to the rest of her fortune.

Accounts for her two companies show that Cherry Westfield was worth £2,004,963 at the end of last November, down £20,000 on 2009 and assets of CW Touring had shrunk from £142,012 to just £8,032.

But in 2008 she was ranked in 10th place on the Sunday Times' Rich List with a fortune of £10million.

By last year the Sunday Times showed that sum was down to £5 million.

And now it seems there has been a further decrease to £2m – leaving many wondering where the £8  has gone.

A friend said: “Amy was famously generous, but eight million pounds in a little more than two years does seem a bit excessive. It's just a bit of a mystery.”
Winehouse was found dead in July at her home in Camden, north London on July 23.

The cause of her death remains a mystery. Toxicology tests found some alcohol but no evidence of illegal drugs.
