IT remains a classic of the comedy sketch genre but wownews.co.uk decided the Two Ronnies 1976 Four Candles sketch was in desperate need of a modern re-write.

It just had to be done...

In a hardware shop. Ronnie Corbett is behind the counter, wearing a warehouse jacket. He has just finished serving a customer.

CORBETT (muttering): There you are. Mind how you go. (Ronnie Barker enters the shop, wearing a scruffy tank-top and beanie)

BARKER: Four Kindles!

CORBETT: Four Kindles?

BARKER: Four Kindles. (Ronnie Corbett makes for a box, and gets out four Kindles. He places them on the counter)

BARKER: No, four Kindles!

CORBETT (confused): Well there you are, four Kindles!

BARKER: No, fork 'andles! 'Andles for forks!
