BASEBALL players are beloved of lawyers and hated by insurance companies as they boast the highest number of freak accidents of any sport.
Top claims include the player playing at muscleman who dislocated a shoulder trying to rip a phone book in half and another DIY-disaster who tested an air conditioning unit by sticking his hand into it.
Indeed, at a recent insurance conference in New York the country's top insurers swapped a top 10 list of freak baseball injuries.
