Owen wants a totally new identity, including a council house by the seaside for him and his girlfriend, and facial reconstruction so he will not be recognised.
The 39-year-old will be released from Wandsworth Prison, London on the fourth anniversary of Peter Connelly’s death.
He will have served less than four years for his part in the appalling abuse prior to the child's death in Haringey, London.
He was present as the 17-month-old suffered a daily barrage of sadistic beatings that led to him suffering a broken back and ribs – which went undiagnosed by so-called medical experts.
According to the Daily Mirror Owen has bragged that on his release he wants to move to the seaside in Kent, then Devon or Cornwall, so he can start a new life as a personal trainer with his girlfriend and five kids.
He claims he is innocent. A friend of the family said: “Owen reckons he never had anything to do with what went on with Peter and was just in the wrong place at the wrong time, which is why he should be able to start a new life with no one knowing who he his.
“‘He and his missus talk all the time about getting set up in a nice big council house near the beach.”
