Jewish court sentences dog to be stoned to death

E-mail Print PDF

dog-in-jerusalemA JEWISH court has sentenced a dog to be stoned to death because the animal is suspected of being  the reincarnation of a lawyer who insulted the judges two decades ago.

And children are being assembled to do the actual stoning.

Israeli news site Ynet was reporting that the dog entered the Monetary Affairs Court in the Orthodox Jewish neighbourhood of Mea Shearim in Jerusalem, frightening judges and plaintiffs.

Apparently attempts to hound the hound from the court failed.

One of the sitting judges then recalled a curse the court had passed down upon a secular lawyer who had insulted the judges 20 years earlier.

Their preferred divine retribution was for the lawyer's spirit to move into the body of a dog, an animal considered impure by traditional Judaism.

Clearly still offended, one of the judges sentenced the animal to death by stoning by local children.
