Pride of Britain hero charged with alleged 'road rage assault'

Pride-of-BritainTHE winner of a 'Pride of Britain' award has been charged with an assault sparked by an alleged road rage incident.

Tariq Jahan was hailed a hero when he called for calm after his 21-year-old son Haroon was killed in the recent riots in Birmingham, UK.

He was honoured this week with a  Pride of Britain award.

But it was revealed today that Mr Jahan is due to attend court in his home city of Birmingham on Monday after being charged with seriously assaulting a man, allegedly breaking his jaw and knocking out two of his teeth during a road rage incident.

The alleged assault dates back to July 6.

He was charged with inflicting grievous bodily harm without intent.
