Well, almost. The super-simple app at allows users to type in their home town and see exact times and co-ordinates to track the ISS as it passes over at 17,000 mph (27724 kph) roughly 173 miles (278 km) overhead.

The ISS, which has made almost 80,000 orbits in its 11 years of operation is currently crewed by six astronauts carrying out a variety of zero-gravity experiments.

A spokesman for NASA said: “Ever watch the space station fly over your house? Look up sighting opportunities – then look up!”
