Edvard Munch's expressionist masterpiece The Scream is brought to life by animators

The-ScreamEDVARD Munch's iconic expressionist painting The Scream has been brought to life by a team of young animators.

The team, which included director Sebastien Cosor and producer Tony Willis, set the painting (actually a series of works carried out between 1893 and 1910) to a Pink Floyd soundtrack.

Munch's own musing on existence starts with the two unknown men (in the background of the painting) crossing the bridge while discussing mortality.

Munch explained The Scream thus: “I was walking along a path with two friends – the sun was setting – suddenly the sky turned blood red – I paused, feeling exhausted, and leaned on the fence – there was blood and tongues of fire above the blue-black fjord and the city – my friends walked on, and I stood there trembling with anxiety – and I sensed an infinite scream passing through nature.”
